D. 202 seeks community input for new 5-year strategic plan

Plainfield School District 202 is surveying and inviting community members to serve on a special committee as part of the work to create a five-year strategic plan to help prioritize and guide its work and resources.

Links to the survey and an application to serve on the “Strategic Long-Range Planning Committee” are both posted on the front page of the District 202 website ( , and on all school websites under “Announcements.”


Community members both with and without children in District 202 schools are encouraged to take the survey and apply to serve on the committee.

The committee will further clarify and guide potential district work. The Board of Education will further discuss and finalize the 2021-26 strategic plan this winter.

The survey includes 35 general questions in six key areas:

  • Finance and Facilities
  • Curriculum and Instruction
  • Student Outcomes/Profile
  • Human Resources
  • Public Relations/Community
  • Technology

The survey and committee applications are both due by 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

Strategic Long-Range Planning Committee membership will not exceed 100 persons. Everyone who applies for consideration may not be chosen because of pandemic-related space limitations and social distancing requirements. Committee members will be picked randomly from among all applicants.

The Strategic Long-Range Planning Committee will meet from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, November 14, 2020. Committee members must attend both meetings. ***Meeting dates may change based on pandemic-related space limitations and social distancing requirements.
